So Happy To Find These Products Again. I Will be Back.

Posted by Susan on 18th Feb 2023

I own two of the Iron Tough coats and love them. One I use for snowblowing and any other outdoor work I might possibly be doing and the other for when I walk my dogs. I live in Northern Michigan and temperatures can be below zero to 30's above in winter, but average in the 20s most of the time. Both of these coats have kept me more than warm. Even in 35 mph winds with 40 mile an hour gusts I never even feel the wind or cold. I had a snowmobile jacket from Refridge-I-Wear through my snowmobile dealer, back in the 70s and wore it out. Couldn't find another one. Thought the company was out of business until last winter when their ad popped up on my Facebook page. I didn't waste any time purchasing an Iron Tuff coat from them. So happy to see they are still in business. Same high quality as they have been known for. Love the metal zippers and the fleece lined collar. I live in Northern Michigan winters can vary anywhere from below zero to the 30s, averaging usually in the 20s. I have been more than warm in these coats and even being out in 35 mph winds with 40 mph wind gusts I don't even feel that wind. I use my one for snowblowing and any outdoor work I might be doing and my other one for walking my dogs. They shed snow right off and even if you are in a wet snow or a light rain they will still keep you dry and warm. If you are spending time in the outdoors whether it is working or doing recreational activities, you won't find anything any better. Great quality, great customer service. The only thing that I wish, was that they had an inside pocket in these coats.

I wear this coat every day when I take my dog for a walk in our northern Michigan Winter. Temperatures have ranged from low 30's to single digits and below zero windchills. This coat is advertised as being windproof and believe me it is. I don't feel the wind through it at all. It's like being surrounded by a wall that stops the wind. It has kept me warm. It sheds wet snow too. The fur lined collar is snug and warm and above all, metal heavy duty zippers. About the only suggestion I can make is maybe adding just a little more insulation in the sleeves as I notice a cold spot in the right elbow on mine. I can feel the cold on the sleeves, but I am warm. This coat does an excellent job of retaining body heat. I came back to RefrigiWear because I had a great snowmobile jacket from them in the 1970's and loved it. When I found out Thry we're still in business, I wasted no time ordering this coat. Thank you for a great product.

    Fantastic jacket!

    Posted by W C. on 8th Dec 2021

I owned a aRefrigiwear jacket way back in the 70s when I used to snowmobile, go for winter walks and other winter activities and I loved it.. But Iike anything else, eventually it finally wore out from years of use. It was so warm, comfortable and took whatever Mother Nature threw at us. This winter I have been searching for a new winter jacket and recently I saw an ad on Facebook from Refrigiwear and was happy to see they are still around after all these years. I went into their website, tried the Gear finder tool and also did a couple mail chats, finally deciding on this Women's Iron Tuff jacket. Arrived really quickly despite a one day winter weather delay and today was the first day that I wore it to take my dogs for a walk. Temp was 21 with a real feel of 15 and a slight breeze. I ordered a Women's Large which is usually my normal women's size. It fir perfectly with enough room to layer a thick fleece jacket underneath . I was comfortable and warm and I actually hated to come in. . Refrigiwear did not disappoint. After all these years they still make em like they used to. This is one serious winter jacket. . It doesn't come with a hood, they are an option,. But since. I rarely use one, it's no con for me. A bit stiff, but will soften with use. The color s so warm and soft and keeps out the wind. The only thing I can say I wish it had, is an inside pocket and some zippers on the outside ones, but again, no deal breaker. If you are looking for a good winter jacket that will take whatever the weather can throw at you, keep you warm and comfortable, go for it.
